World Psoriasis Day 2022
For World Psoriasis Day 2022, Novartis Malaysia together with its Psoriasis partners, the Psoriasis Association of Malaysia, Psoriasis Association of Johor and Arthritis Foundation Malaysia collaborated to highlight the daily struggles of living with psoriasis and its progressions and comorbidities that go beyond the skin.
Psoriasis fighters like Azizah, Sofia and Hafis not only have to deal with its physical effects but also the disease’s impact on their mental health and social lives. Their stories send a message about the importance of early treatment and detection and urge psoriasis fighters to Take Action Now and not wait to visit their dermatologist or rheumatologist.
The pain from psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis can be debilitating. For those living with this condition such as Azizah, it takes a drastic toll on one’s mental health.
More than just ‘dry skin’, psoriasis won’t ‘go away eventually. It is a lifelong condition with lasting effects. But Hafis took action through effective management, and the early treatment can make a huge difference to their quality of life.
Like Sofia, many of those living with psoriasis discovered that it’s much more than just the skin. The inflammation from psoriasis can lead to other issues and increase the risk of developing other diseases over time. As such, it is crucial to tackle this early on through diagnosis and stay consistent with management.
World Psoriasis Day 2019
For World Psoriasis Day 2019, Psoriasis Association of Malaysia and Zee Avi collaborated to create the first musical petition for Psoriasis patients.
The lyrics were inspired via a workshop conducted between Zee Avi and a handful of Psoriasis patients who shared their challenges living with the burden of the condition, as well as their hopes.
Following the workshop, fourteen Psoriasis patients came together to record the song and film the music video, overcoming their flare-ups to send a message and rally support for the petition to help patients gain better access to treatment.
World Psoriasis Day 2018
In conjunction with World Psoriasis Day 2018, 5 extraordinary people came together to raise awareness and to empower other psoriasis patients to live life and be positive.
